The Capital Embraces Iran’s Inaugural Direct Flight, Enhancing Travel Prospects.
THE HANOI TIMES — Approximately 200 Iranian tourists touched down in Hanoi on a VIP charter flight on March 28, marking the first-ever direct air link between Iran and Vietnam.
This historic moment paves the way for new tourism opportunities, according to the city’s Department of Tourism.

The Iranian tour group is all set to explore Vietnam’s key destinations until April 5. Their itinerary includes iconic spots such as the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, the world-famous Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh Province, and the charming coastal city of Danang. This well-curated trip is organized by ASIA DMC.
ASIA DMC has grand plans to bring nearly 1,000 more Iranian travelers to Vietnam, introducing them to the country’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
By tapping into new source markets, particularly in the Middle East, Vietnam is diversifying its visitor base and boosting high-end tourism services. Strengthening its reputation as a premium destination solidifies Vietnam’s standing on the global tourism stage, as highlighted by the Department of Tourism.
Vietnam has impressed the world with its tourism appeal, ranking among the top 20 most popular destinations globally with a score of 89 out of 100. The arrival of Iranian charter tourists underscores Vietnam’s growing allure, especially for travelers from the Middle East, a market with untapped potential.
As per the department, Hanoi witnessed a surge in visitor numbers this year. In the first quarter, the city welcomed 7.3 million tourists, marking an 8.7% increase from the same period last year. Notably, 1.85 million international arrivals were recorded, reflecting a 17.4% year-on-year rise.
