The 22nd annual event kicked off with a breathtaking fireworks display that illuminated the night sky, captivating spectators and marking the start of a memorable celebration.

The streets surrounding the venue, including Ngo Duc Ke, Pasteur, and Dong Khoi in District 1, were filled with families, young individuals, and international tourists, all eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant Tet festivities.

The entrance gate of Nguyen Hue Flower Street presented a stunning spectacle named ‘The Dance of Unity,’ showcasing a harmonious blend of vibrant floral arrangements, artistic designs, and energetic snake mascots, symbolizing the unity and spirit of the occasion.

Bui Thi Ngoan, a local resident of District 10, enthusiastically shared her excitement about the event, stating that she and her friends had been eagerly anticipating this annual tradition.

“Donning our ‘ao dai’ (Vietnamese traditional outfit), we strolled along Nguyen Hue Flower Street, capturing memorable photos amidst the beautiful floral backdrops,” she said.

“We make it a point to visit on opening day when the flowers are at their freshest and most vibrant. The atmosphere is always electric, and this year, with the cool weather and engaging activities, it was even more enjoyable,” she added.

Among the international visitors was Michele D’Ercole, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, who has celebrated Tet in the country for 15 years.

Standing amidst a sea of flowers, he filmed a ‘Happy New Year’ clip to share with his Vietnamese friends on social media, expressing his appreciation for the unique and sacred Tet traditions.

Visitors immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere of Tet at Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025, capturing memories and enjoying the vibrant surroundings.

“Vietnamese families come together to prepare traditional foods, make ‘banh chung’ (Vietnamese sticky rice cake), visit flower markets, and take part in events like this flower street,” he said, highlighting the significance of Tet in Vietnamese culture.

“The diversity of traditions across regions makes Tet a fascinating and hopeful time to celebrate the start of a new year.”

During the opening ceremony, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, deputy chairwoman of the city’s administration, emphasized the cultural and artistic value of Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025.

With unique sculptures, rare flowers, and vibrant displays, the event showcased the fresh colors of spring and reflected the spirit and diversity of Vietnam’s land and people.

The artistic flower arrangements, contributed by consulates general in Ho Chi Minh City, added a unique and refreshing touch to the already vibrant and colorful street, making it a true celebration of cultural diversity and floral artistry.

For the fifth consecutive year, this collaboration with international consulates has enriched the event, creating a stunning and memorable floral art exhibition that captivates locals and visitors alike.
