Taste the World: International Food Festival 2024 Showcasing 60 Countries and Territories.

The upcoming festival, with the theme “Connecting Cuisines,” offers a unique opportunity to showcase and celebrate the culinary diversity of nations, fostering cultural diplomacy.

The 2024 International Food Festival promises to be a spectacular event, taking place on December 7-8 at the Diplomatic Corps Area in Hanoi, with over 60 countries and territories participating.

As shared by Hoang Thai Ha from the Diplomatic Corps Service Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this annual festival is designed to promote cultural and culinary exchanges, bringing nations together through the universal language of food.

This year’s festival, themed “Gastronomy of Unity,” will be a celebration of culinary cultures, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of each participating country. It also serves as a platform to showcase Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage, enhancing its global presence and fostering international cooperation.

According to Hoang Thai Ha, the International Food Festival has been a successful annual event since its inception in 2014, providing a stage for international cultural and culinary exchanges. It has attracted a diverse range of participants, including embassies, foreign cultural centers, international friends, provincial and municipal foreign affairs departments, businesses, sponsors, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The festival goes beyond just a celebration of food,” said Hoang Thai Ha. “It emphasizes the unifying power of cuisine, where people from different backgrounds find common ground. Each dish tells a story of cultural heritage, and we aim to share these stories and spread the values of harmony and goodwill.”

This year’s event promises to be even more captivating, with carefully curated food presentations, artistic performances, and engaging activities such as the Beer Festival, Culinary Passport, and Cuisine on a Plate. The Five Continents Kitchen will also offer a unique opportunity to explore global flavors.

Festival-goers will embark on a culinary journey, tasting Russian grilled meat, Italian specialties, and, of course, a variety of Vietnamese delights. Pho (noodle soup) and spring rolls will take center stage, alongside other regional culinary treasures.

Le Thi Thiet, a renowned culinary artist, shared at the press conference on November 21 that the festival will evoke emotions and build connections through the language of food. “Vietnamese cuisine, with its exquisite flavors and rich traditions, will be a highlight,” she said. “We aim to preserve our heritage while also innovating to captivate international guests. Each dish will be a blend of flavors and cultures, telling a story that unites us all.”
